engine Legit?
i have a 94 Civic and I wanted to get a GSR engine for it. I'm looking for a good deal, but with some of these engines with no papers, I'm concerned. I also dont want to have any trouble with the engine. Just wondering for those of you who swap engines, how do you go about finding out if the engine in legit or not? I have the number on the block, but the VIN on the tranny is gone...

Do you see where it was removed? If so, that would be something I would be conserned with.
Ask for paperwork/receipt from when and where they purchased it from. This would be a good starting point!

i would get the non-emergency local police phone number and call them to check up a engine number(which is the block code). That's what i did and luckly mine was legit... I hope your will be also due to i know how it feels to get jack for something that is not legit.. Good luck buddie.
