What calipers will fit a Spoon Sports SW388 w/ +45 offset other than spoon calipers. Someone posted wilwood calipers on 15x7 wheel but I asked wilwood they told me it won't fit. Rotora either.

 

befor you go spending mucho money on calipers why do you think you need better ones?

99% of the time better fuild, and better pads are all you need

 

What would I upgrade too? I have motul fluid everywhere in my car. Pads are ceramic. I just wanna be able to stop once pushing over 300whp. I find sometimes my brake system can't handle what it's at now (GSR EG w/ basic mods).

your limit right now is yoru tires, and if you bump up to somthing like a spoon, or wilwoood or rotora you still wont be able to stop any sooner because your limited by your tires.

so spend the money on the expensive brakes but your not going to stop any sooner, if your setup right now can lock up the tires

That's only so true. Yes the tires friction against the pavement is what -really- stops the car - but locking the brakes is not a true way of testing braking ability. A larger caliper / rotor combo disipitates heat better, as well as braking force - allowing you to stop quicker WITHOUT locking the brakes...

 

I have to agree with slammed for the most part on this. Upgraded pads, fluids, bigger MC, and bigger BB should net you a very good brake system. Big brakes are mostly helpful for repeated braking where stock brakes would fade badly.................John

 

Why would a free floating 1 piston be better than a 2 piston or 4 piston caliper? The applied forced would not be spread better with a 2 or 4 piston you have a more equal braking surface.

 

Is it possible to get ABS hooked up on a non-ABS vehicle?.....Thats makes a great difference and I never hear anyone say anything about that.

i never said locking the brakes was the fastest way to stop a car, i simply said if you setup now can already lock up the tires then it is pleanty of brake.

He never said anything fade happening or wanting to dissapte heat, and on the street you should have this probably at all.

Never said it would be better, yes it does apply the force more evenly threw out the pads, but again unless your REALLY REALLY pushing a high HP car on a road course, then ya it would make a difference but i know alot of hybrid honda's on the track that use the 11.1" rotor with the ITR caliper.


Id look into upgradeing to something factroy, its cheap, easily replaceable, and redaily available.

 

Alright thanks. What would suggest, right now I have front Si (92-95) hubs so theyre a bit bigger than oem cx w/ slotted brembo's (blanks) ceramic pads with motul brake fluid. Already have a teg mbc.

 

unless you got 94-95 civic SI/EX with ABS there very small and thats a very small chance. id suggest getting those, or 94-01 integra (non ITR ARE ALL THE SAME) brakes up front. and seeing how this will work for you.
