Default HID Help...

I connect the 12v ballast power wires to the headlight wire harness. I turn on the headlights and the HID bulb illuminated for about 3 seconds then went out. At first I thought I blew my bulb or ballast, but I plugged it directly to the battery and it works fine.

So now I'm searching for a blown fuse. I search everywhere but I don't find anything. The weird thing is that the other side of the headlight still has power. So I take the ballast and bulb over to the other side and plug it in. Same thing happened again as the first side. Now none of the headlight wire harnesses have any power.

What can it be? Does each headlight have it's own fuse? Does anyone know why it does this? TIA...

each headlight does have it's own fuse, check the fuse box under the hood. You might want to check the ground connect. Next swap the bulbs to see if that's the problem. It sounds like a ballast issue. GL.

Your OEM harness probably went bad can't hand the HID voltage.

Everything works fine, it blew the factory 10amp fuse - I replaced 20amp fuses and they work fine.

DO NOT DO THAT. REMOVE THE 20AMP FUSES IMMEDIATELY AND RUN ANOTHER SET OF WIRES FOR THE HID'S.

the fuses are 10amp not to annoy you but that's the safe amount of current to run thru those wires. you put a 20amp fuse on and you are allowing double the current thru which can results in a electrical fire

ALWAYS REPLACE FUSES WITH SAME RATING.
