Whats that big noise when ABS brakes take on? Im not sure if its normal but its as if a mini motor engages (sorry Im not even sure how ABS work). "brrrrrrrr" is it normal?

Also, is it a good idea to remove my ABS? I just find it annoying... How do you toggle that on/off or if necessary, how do you remove this feature?

You should get a pusling noise like a pump cycling, and feel the pedal pulsating under your foot.

Thanks. Glad to know its normal for the noise, any idea on how to disable the ABS, or even toggle it?

 

ive got a noise comin from my ABS too. it goes ''eeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhh'' for a few mins, and then goes away. anyone know what that is?

I believe thats the abs pump repressuring.(I think)

Also if you slam on your brakes, you should feel a vibration and hear a buzz.
I tried it on my suv and you can hear the abs.

Ok thanks, happy to hear its normal.

 

you can take out the abs fuse module its about the size of a boxed chocolate candy you get from see's but a little bigger... its right behind the abs module in a box that looks like it has fuses in it... i believe it says so on the box also... If your abs module is leaking like mine did it will make those noises.

 

dont take out the abs, its a security option that might come in handy one day when you slam on your brakes, it'll keep you from swirving and spinning out.

 

high pressure leak, i think that u gatta replace the abs unit

I would also like to know exactly what causes the noise from the ABS.
