Default HC Rules question

It seems to me that some people believe that you can update/backdate under the HC rules but I don't see any mention of it in the rules. Am I missing something?

Also, just a little out of the box thinking, for H1 can you use Honda motorcycle parts (i.e. motorcycle ITBs)?

7.10.1 explicitly excludes trim level swaps, but allows body swaps if (and only if) there is no performance advantage (so no ITR chassis for a GSR, but and RS and LS could swap tubs).

Thats some interesting interpretation of the rules! But, I don't think you can use the ITBs off Honda motorcycles. All this time I was only thinking about using throttle bodies off other HOnda automobiles. I feel dumb for not even thinking about.

As for bike ITBs, you have to use an unmodified OEM intake manifold (expect for port match), so I'm not sure how you mount them.

Ahh, I missed the trim level in that section. Thanks for the clarification.

One additional issue:

"The trim level of the car as it is classified for competition must remain in tact".

My car is classified as CRX NOC but in reality it's an SI. If I were to use non-SI parts from other CRX NOC cars I assume I would not be in violation of the rules, correct?

Creative gasket design.

The wording seems to indicate that you can use any parts from cars listed in the charts. So, you're early Si could use early non-Si parts (as they are both listed as NOC).

However, a 2nd gen CRX Si is listed on its own line, so could not use the 2nd gen lightweight doors.

So, I guess you really can update/backdate to certain extent. Similar to Street Prepared or IT rules, where you use the listings in the rule book, and not the actual trim levels.

From M-W.com...
Main Entry: gas·ket
Pronunciation: 'gas-k&t
Function: noun
Etymology: perhaps modification of French garcette
: a material (as rubber) or a member (as an O-ring) used to make a joint fluid-tight

Good luck with that one

That's what I figured.

It's too bad that the 05 rules separated the NOC CRX and Civic. I found some trick parts from some of the 2nd gen civics that under the 04 rules might have been legal.

well actually....they wouldn't have been in the intent of the rules or legal. Part of the goal in the '05 rewrite was to clear up any possible ambiguity (sp?).
