Default low compression in # 4 cylinder only?????please help urgent...

ok after checking my plugs i found alot of unburned gas in that 4th cylinder,I changed the plug and it happened again right away, originally i thought the problem was rings,I did a compression test and found slim to none compression in #4, but 3,2,1 were 165,170 ,165, So that would be ok for a stock ls motor. There has been what sounds like a valvetrain tick that is very pronounced, and this noise got worse after a valve adjustment (from honda)?? I want to know if there could be any other cause for that big loss of compression in one cylinder? I poured a little oil in the cylinder and did another compression test but still only read a couple of psi more, that makes me think that it might not be the rings, beacause the oil would have sealed the rings for a short time to raise comp. correct? , this make me think that im hanging open a valve (maybe thats the tick),thats whats causing lil comp, and all the unburned feul in that cylinder causing it foul the plug etc. I did check for spark and all that stuff is ok but this is boggling my mind, and i just finished the swap a few weeks ago...Any help from a knowledgable member would be very helpful thanks.

Have a leakdown teast performed, that will tell you if the valves are the culprit or the rings.
