what kind of gas mileage are you getting out of your ls vtec or b20 vtec engines? i'm planning to do a ls but maybe a b20 swap, just wondering what i don't have to look forward to..............also, what is your setup with your mileage please!!

Getting 24 miles to a gallon and I mash the gas frequently..LS bottom end is mildly built and B16 head has upgraded valve springs and retainers...just make sure you get a tough/short brass fitting to run the vtec line...my cheap one broke..it was a bitch to fix

 

i get about 240 about 22 miles per gallon and hit vtec once a day

 

what about highway? guessing 30 maybe?

on my teg on a full tank of gas, i am about 340 miles out ot it. its a 91 with a 160,000 on the bottom end. no bull **** either. im suprised i get good gas milage as much as beat the **** out of it. my gas milage didnt change at all. oh and its an ls/vtec.

 

from full to empty..180 miles..lsvtec

Yes 30mpg or so going 80mph @4000rpm...the Ls tranny is good for my daily beater.

As for my setup it has stock Ls rods, new Honda bearings, bolts, .25 type R pistons w/rings, hot tanked, decked, bored, honed, micro-polished crank, new gaskets, B16A head with titanium valve springs and retainers, Type R intake mani, stock ECU (chipped one took a ****), Ls timing belt and new LS water pump, GSR oil pump. 170whp I wish I turbo built the bottom end instead of going with a mild build, something for you to consider.
