h22 into 96 ej?
Ive been looking up some stuff about this swap, I have a 96 ex (ej) and I want to swap an H22A into it. My car is OBD2A and I was wondering, should I buy the OBD2 H22, or the OBD1 H22, and while Im on that subject, I heard of some people switching the OBD of their cars (because OBD2 cannot be chipped?) just wondering how that works, thanks you for the input...
You need to look into smog. You cant put a old motor (different OBD ECU) in a newer car. They will fail you.
To answer your answer, yes, OBD1 is easier to tune with (a lot more programs).

Yes, the EK ones will.

If your car is a 96-98 you need to purchase a 96 and up swap. Not for emissions reasons but for wiring simplicity. If you get a 96 h22a and you combine your 96-98 ex harness with the 96 h22 harness the ex harness will plug up to the prelude ecu. If you decide to convert the car back to obd1 later on you can just buy an adapter harness from boomslang fabrication and an obd1 ecu. When it is time for you to go through emissions you just unplug the obd2-obd1 adapter and install your obd2 ecu. Sorry for rambling and hope this helps.
