Default Type R ECU's

Hi !!

I have a JDM 2000 ITR Spec R Engine swapped in my Civic with a ECU that has a code that ends with P73-013.

Now, I've read that 98+ Spec JDM ITR's came with a "second revision" ECU... with the code that looks like this : P73-023.

Anyone knows if this is true about JDM ECU's ? If so, what would be the difference between the 2 Ecu's ? If I have a 013 revision.. should I change mine ?

Thanx !!

there was just a post about this
96-97 p73-003
98-99 p73-013
00-01 p73-023

On integras, OBD2a plugs are from years 96-99. OBD2b is 00-01.

Thanks for the info !

But now I would love to know, is there a difference between a 96 ECU or a 98 ECU ? Since one is built for the typical R, and the other one built for the Spec R ?

For what I meant... Typical R would by a 96-97 R and Spec R would be 98+ (All JDM)

That's all... and can you answer the question ?

A type R is a type R. End of story..
