Ive been looking around on car domain at like 96 - 98 civic coupes, some sites say they are Ek's and some people have called Ej's? Aren't they Ek's

 

Yes, civics years 96-00 is an ek.

88-91 = EF
92-95 = EG
96-00 = EK
01+ = EP/EM

92-00 Coupes are EJ (except for the DOHC Si, that is an EM)
96-00 Hatches are EK
92-95 Hatches are EH

96-00 coupes are EJ's. I have a 2000 EX coupe and it's an EJ8. Only the hatchbacks are EK.

 

SO i have a 98 Ex coupe so that is and Ej

I have a '99 Hatch and no where on the VIN does it say EK.

haha man dustin has been poping out all these retarted awnsers recently, they are funny as hell though, Its just like the modderators are giving up on honda-tech sence all the O5 members, have started bringing it down hill.

It also depends on where your car was made if it's a EK, EJ, EG, EH, whatever Canadian cars have different first 3 digits than the US made cars.

my sedan is a EG9 its a 92 and Canadian and dx.

just look at ur VIN and problem sloved

 

all usdm 96-00 civics are EJ's.. no EK's here in america unless they were imported

EK's are in japan and europe (maybe some other places too)
