Default 2000 4cyl Lx Oil Consumption problem!

I have a 2000 accord that is burning or loosing oil (about a quart a week) There are no leaks and the compression on the car is great, I've had it checked twice. There is some noise coming from the valves it sounds like though. Could the valve seals be going and the oil is leaking and burning through there?

We really need the milage on the car to be able to help. There is a product call ed auto-rx that cleans you engine ie the ring packs and can sometimes solve a problem like this. I would give it a try first as it is less expensive than a valve job etc. You really need a dry/wet compression check to know if it is valves or rings.

A comprsion test isn't going to tell you much about the condition of the oil control rings.

That's a possibility.

How many miles do you get to the quart?

The engine itsself has about 50 or 60,000 miles on it, everyone including honda says that the engine runs great..... however apparently it isnt....
