Default Upgrade

I have a D15B7, so I have 102hp stock D series engine. It is one step below a D16Z6, but still better than a D15Z1( 92hp- what a joke). My question involving this is why is the D15Z1 the same as the D15b7 (but with vtec) have less power. It has 98000 Km, so it is just getting broken into. Lots of life left and has been serviced by Honda all the time. Oh and it's a 92 DX, if you havn't figured it out. So my question is can/should I vtec this engine or should I get a D16. If so would making a D15 mini-me be worth it or should I just swap for a D16Z6. I don't really want to, because this engine has a perfect service record and such low milage. But on the other hand, up grading from a 1.5L to a 1.6L would be nice. I crave for the vtec and I know I am missing out big! Any suggestions and help would be great. thanks in advance!
