6th gen auto to manual question
I have done a search, and have yet to find an answer to the following question. The clutch pedal is usually braced from above, to one of the bars behind the dash. The OEM auto cars are not equipped with this, or anywhere to attach one. How and what are you 6th gen owners doing to keep the pedal from flexing and the geometry of the clutch master cylinder shaft from being off when pressing in the clutch pedal?

i dont know about 6th gens but 90-97 the auto cars have the area on the firewall where the master cyl goes outlined and you just drill the mount holes out and cut the hole to put the master cyl through. the clutch pedal bracket bolts ontop of the mater cyl. using the same mounting points at the master cyl.
thats a 6th gen master cyl and from that diagram it looks like it mounts the same.

That part I understand, and have done. The part I am asking about is the brace that runs from the top of the clutch pedal to, usually, a bar under the dash. Auto cars do not have provisions on the reinfrocement bar like the manual cars do. Just trying to see what people are using, as to what works and what does not...

I used a piece of 90 degree aluminum stock and cut it about 5" or so long and drilled 2 holes in it. used one bolt for the top of the clutch assy. and the other I was able to run a bolt from the braket to the steering shaft mount. Theres an open hole that works perfect.

Had a piece of 1/4" steel welded onto the back of the pedal, where it mounts to the firewall, seems to have taken out all the flex. We will check it in a few days and see how it is holding up...
