i have a b16 out of a 99 si into a eg (eh) chasis. I used a OBD II gsr engine harness and a rechipped p28.

I am throwing code 1 - primary o2 sensor

I extended the primaryo2 sensor from the si, however i used thicker gauge wire (only thing laying around) and i soldered them togeather, wrapped in electrical tape and plugged it in. Right when i start the car, a CEL comes on, and reads at primary o2

I reset the ECU and start the car and again RIGHT AWAY the cel comes on and reads primary o2.

I think switched the postion of the black wires that i soldered thinking i did it wrong, and same thing happens.

Can anyone help me out here? is the problem that i used much thicker gauge wires? Ive always thought that it would take a minute or two for a CEL to come on if its a o2 problem. But it seems to come on right when the car starts.

Opinions? Faulty o2? Bad soldering? Im just dumb?? Dont want to spend the money on a new o2 sensor if i don't have to.

Also 1 last question, is the plug for the primary o2 sensor the same size/shape as the plug of the 2ndary o2? Thanks!
