Intermittent Studder
Ok....I have installed a test pipe in my 99 Civic Si and also hooked up the Caspers Electronics O2 Simulator. I now have a CEL and the code is a 65. I took it to Honda and the mechanic checked it for me and said that the rear O2 voltage was too high according to the diagnostic tester. My question is this....does the rear O2 have to be functioning properly for the O2 simulator to work right ? I can clear the light and drive for about 15 minutes and then you can feel the car studder and then the CEL comes on. Could it be my rear O2 sensor has bite the big one ?
Thanks,
Robert
Thanks,

The casper O2 simulator is for the secondary O2 sensor only. You didn't put the simulator on the primary wires did you?
Code 65 is a problem with the secondary O2 sensor.
Did you put the O2 simulator on the primary O2 sensor wires, and completly remove the secondary O2 sensor? That is the only way I can think of how you could be getting the problems you described.
Oh, does the casper o2 simulator plug in or do you have to wire it in?
Rear O2 voltage should read between 5-8 volts. I was under the impression that the O2 simulator simply sent the ECU a signal between 5-8 volts.
