Default Car died on the highway!! techs help!

this sucks, but i got it started eventually, but im not sure why it died. heres the story:

i just gave the toll booth lady my money and i took off. when i got to about 6000 rpms, the car jerked. the tach went down to zero, then all the idiot lights came on. i made to the side of the road and tried to fire her up. the motor would turn, but would not start. the motor just made this sound like i tapped a hollow tube. for a second i thought i blew a gasket, but when i popped the hood i saw no fluids spashed anywhere, or on the ground. checked my dipstick to see maybe i didnt have enough oil, and it was low. checked the distributor to see if it was tight and it was. so i think its the starter. anyone else have any ideas? would the starter cause the car to die? its odd cause i'd already driven about 30 miles before it died.

ater about 30 minutes on the side of the road, it started up again. i also just had my venom injectors put in on sunday.

TIA

Well I am not Sure. But I sort of Had the Same Problem. But mine was where i didn't put the Right Oktane (CAn't Spell Sorry) in my car and it caused it 2 Idle weird and Die Sometimes. Also It might been Where it hasn't been Running 4 a While. Cause My did the Same Thing and I think it was because it was in the Shop 4 like a Month or something and wasn't started 4 a while. Well I hope I sort of Helped ya out. I have a Hard Time Explaining Stuff. C-ya

WOW! What a coincidence that you just put in injectors and now you have fuel problems!

I would definately start there... Starter only starts the car...after its on..its done!

might be your rotor is starting to go bad
if not the injectors

its not the starter, if its the starter, the car won't turn at all.
unless the gear isn't popping out.

your best bet is to find a buddy that have a civic or integra, swap main relay with him/her, it will most likely solve the problem. if not try the ignitor or the distributor coil.

but like I said start with the main relay first, its the easiest thing to do

main relay wouldnt cause the car to die on the highway, it would thought let the car not start and then let it start later if it was going bad....but i think the reason the car died is not an ignition problem, but a fuel problem.....

ken, is your timing all correct after your cam install?

did your rpms go crazy(up and down) before your car died?......if so, its probably a problem somewhere in your distributor, but if your coil or ignitor is blown, your car wouldn't start at all.....had this problem last summer

remember guys, it died.....but it started up a half hour later.....it cant be something like a ignitor or something like that because it wouldnt have started again if it was....at least to my knowledge.
