Default 1993 civic hatch prob.

I have a friend that has a 93 civic hatch and he just started having a bit of a porb with it.... his battery light is turning on and but when his RPM's reach 3500 it shuts off till they drop again... does this mean he needs a new altonator?

check the alt. belt and the wire/ terminals from the top of the alt. to the fuse box.

have the alt tested at autozone to be sure, but im guessing thats what it is
