its completed now, i started a new thread with pics and dyno sheet
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1159629
about 6-7 p.s.i. and im using:
-a tial 38 mm wastegate
- small intercooler
-tial blow off valve
-a precision sc-32 t3 turbo with 480 max h.p, and a 360 race bearing system,
go to http://www.precisionturbo.net/...=3026
(its the 4th or 5th one down)
-custom built manifold and intercooler piping
- fuel pump
-apexi safc2 to control everything
and a boost gauge
-he'll do all the tuning on a dyno himself
so far all that is done is the mounting of the inercooler to the bumper

most of the ic piping is made but still not ready to put on and were waiting on the flange for the manifold to be able to be built, then its all cheese from there!
i will update again with more pictures and info soon!

Nice setup, but that is quite possibly the smallest intercooler (front mount) I've ever seen. But for 6-7psi it should work great

a midengine twin turbo j30 in a shifter cart is what i thought this thread was going to be about.

looking good, keep us updated on your progress. are you boosting the stock f-series (6th gen so i assume F23)? also what other modifications have you done or plan on doing?? best of luck to you, hope to see the project complete in the near future.

HAHA!
I doubt there will ever be a successful turbo J30.

Pwned!!! What the hell is a VASF? Did I miss something?

Just a though...Get some T-screw drive cramps for the fuel line, those worm drive are known for getting loose over time, which you could get a pretty nasty engine fire.

theres enough room under the hood for a turbo, but it would be located at a totally odd location. possible, but as you said, not to be considered a success.
a j30 mounted midship in a crx might be possible, though. if you can put a supercharged 468 big block into a crx...

...i doubt a j30 could be any harder.

looks good. btw, i call that compartment "the abyss". a black interior makes that space look like an endless pit and it nearly is that big.

Question. If you have a SAFC why not just use it as the "HACK" and forget the FMU. Is there something im missing here.
"HITES"
Ive seen a couple kits inside the J32 compartments and a V6 Camry. They just sit where the battery is.
About the CRX, how would you get the tranny to bolt up? NSX tranny?!?!

about using the hack with safc2 and not use a fmu, i don't believe if i trust in the whole hack process. i have heard of too many problems with that whole idea, now im sure it works for other people but i feel much more comfortable with having an fmu rather than going the hack route.

update #4 or so:
the manifold is 3/4 done, it still needs a mount for the wastegate, and the turbo is mounted in this picture, the downpipe is almost done just needs to be connected to the cat, and then the ic piping, and gauge, oil lines, and tuning, then it is done

any comments or suggestions would be great! i am really excited ill have pics and a tyno sheet posted when its finished!

thats EXACTLY where i thought the turbo would go! after installing my cai, i noticed how much room it freed up and i later realized that relocating the battery would free up much more room. if you removed the headlight, thatd be pretty much a straight shoot into that turbo.
i dont have a clue how they got the tranny to work in that crx. im thinking the tranny on the front of the engine with the shaft redirecting back, like that of almost every 4wd truck and the early 90's acura legends for reference/example, and having the differential very close to the engine itself (would have to be) and possibly having one of the axles go through the oil pan (early 90's legend again
). in all honesty however, i dont have a clue. btw, it also has the stock engine up front for daily driving.
