Default how important is a girdle?

ok so here is my setup. im just wondering how much of a necessaty this is.
Block: Ls block. internals are: type R crank, type R rods, p30 pistons.
head: Gsr head, ctr cams.

so the reason why i went with a LS block is because it was cheaper, i was originally gonna use a ls crank with this setup, but i decided to use my type R internals instead cuz i got a good deal with it. either way i guess it doesnt really matter why i chose to put the type r internals in the ls block, its what i did and its in the past.

so my questions are:

1.) how important is gettin a girdle? because i kno the vtec blocks come stock with a girdle. and LS blcoks dont.

2.) where are some good places i can find a good strong but relatively cheap one?

3.) what would be a good rpm to stop reving passed if i dont have a girdle on? and does high compression effect alot on the motor if it doesnt have a girdle compared to low compression.

4.) and does anyone have something else to say that i didnt bring up or just some good information about this?

I don't have a girdle in my LSVTEC, I rev to 8000-8200 and the car has been alive for years.

If the engine assembly is assembled correctle with new bearings, you SHOULD be ok.To be on the safe side,i would run that 5-main girdle.Your bottom end is where your investment is,go half *** and spin a bearing or something, you wish you would have done it right the first time......
