changed spark plugs..........

Default changed spark plugs..........

and they were very black around the thread and the electrode.

i'm using a kenji chipped ecu, does his ecu make you run that rich too where your plugs are very black?

everytime i hit vtec, i could black smoke out the exhaust too.

That would be my guess for too much carbon build-up, to much fuel.

Your using an ECU that isnt optimized for your setup. Thats your problem.

hmmmm...most hatches with vtec swaps use a p28 chipped ecu.

Yeah thats great and all, but that ECU has a set fuel curve. Whether that fuel curve actually WORKS PROPERLY for your car is another matter. You already know that you are running rich as hell, so that would tend to make one think that that fuel curve is too rich for your setup.

Which is the reason you may want to consider a progammable/tunable ECU, not one with factors that are set in stone.
