Where is this sensor located?

 

If you stand at your passenger side fender, its on the top of the transmission on your left (towards the back of the trans casing) and its a grey plug that goes straight down into the trans. That CEL I believe is caused by either the sensor itself has gone faulty whereas sometimes it can be fixed by simply checking to make sure the plug is tight and the wires are making good contact. And the sensor is also probably......4-6" from the block on the trans.

Just try unplugging it, making sure the wires/plug look good, plugging it back in, clear your code and see if it comes back. If it does, you'll have to replace the sensor.

I would do that before replacing the sensor.

 

Ya i had the same problem, i replaced the VSS itself, but it still doesnt work? What should i do next?

 

just like someone said earlier, check for continuity in the wires with a multimeter....i had the actual harness plug for the vss get so corroded that the pins in the plug actual fell apart..
