Loud noise - bad bearings?
My 1998 Accord LX 4 cylinder sedan is making a very loud sound near the tire area.
At first, i thought it was my tire but I switched tires with my friends and the sound was still there.
Took it too sears for them to check and they said my "bearings gone bad". I asked for an estimate and they they dont know and would have to check it out. They also told me not to drive the car so much. I didnt know what they were saying but it sounds kinda like a big problem to me.
What do you guys think happened to my car or how much will it cost me? Thanks
Btw, the engine is completely stock.

ive known people to rid on a bad bearing for months w/o much worry.
jack up your car and wiggle the wheel that has the bad bearing and if it feels loose even though the rim is tightly bolted down then its most likely the bearing. does it always sound like your in a tunnel when your cruising?
the bearings themself are pretty cheap the fronts are like $40-50 each and the rears are about $60-70, but they have to be pressed in/out. ive been quoted for parts and labor for the front bearings for around $175

sorry for jacking but when you go over a pothole and it squeeks, does it mean your bearings are bad do, or can it be blonw shocks, im on sportlines
Guys, I need help.
I replaced the bearings and the noise is still there. However, the noise wasnt as loud as before, but its definately noticeable.
Whenever I make a left turn, it also makes a weird noise. Like a clicking noise, or it sounds like its hitting/scratching something, ONLY when turning left. I dont hear anything when turning right.
I also noticed my paradas was wearing unevenly because I dont have a camber kit so I thought maybe that was causing the noise. But then I switched tires with a friend to make sure but the car was still making the same noise with different tires.
Ive had people telling me its either the axle, tires, cv joints, bearings.
Yes, it does sound like a tunnel when i drive...

That squeeking can be ball-joints or shocks or tie rod ends. Bearings mostly just wear out the grease thats inside of them and will make a high pitch noise, similar to a cricket at night, not really a squeek. But they can make differnent sounds, but the high pitch noise is usually the bearings. To check balljoints, you will need to lift the front tire, and push in and out on the top and bottom of the tire back and forth. There may be a slight play in them, and this is bearing, but what I would do is get someone to push the wheel in and out and look at the ball joints and see if there is any play in them. If there is, then you may want to replace them. How old are the shocks?

the CV Joint in the axle is probably what is bad. Try to look under your vehicle and see if the boot is cut or open, cause if it is; it probably dried out and now has gone bad because of all the movement without any grease.
You can go to a NAPA shop and get it replaced for pretty cheap. I'm not sure on the exact pricing, but I would suspect anything more than $250! Good luck.
