Need help diagnosing this noise
So on our 06 Accord V6 6 speed with 92k miles a noise has started up. Almost sounds like a tire rubbing or something. That's honestly what I'd think it was. Sounds like a tire rubbing against plastic, but it's not. I've checked. My mother drove this car for a few days, and she was the first to hear it. She said her two friends that know just enough about cars to get themselves in trouble told her that it sounded like the transmission bearing in the car was bad. I'm assuming they meant the throwout bearing. So when she brought it back and told me about it I went to check it out and see what it sounded like. Sure enough it does sound almost like a tire rubbing as she said, but like I said, it's not. However, I'm not sure that I think it's the throwout bearing either. The reason for that is I got running about 15mph where you could hear it pretty well, and put the car in neutral and cut the car off and just let it roll. It still kept making the sound until I slowed down to a stop. If it was the throwout bearing wouldn't it only do it when it was running? Or am I wrong in thinking this? It sounded like it was coming from the drivers front wheel area, but may have been coming from something under the car it's hard to tell.
So any idea's on what this could be? If the the throwout bearing, or whatever transmission bearing there is if there is another one is bad, would it still do it when the car is rolling, but not running?

So if the car is rolling, and in neutral, but the engine is shut off would it still make the noise if it's the throw out bearing?

Re: Need help diagnosing this noise
I've tried doing some searching, but still haven't found a solid answer on it if was one of the transmission bearings if it would make the noise when the car is cut off, but rolling.

My guess the noise is coming from a wheel, a bearing or most likely a brake pad dragging against the rotor. You could jack up one wheel at a time and rotate the wheel to check. Have you checked to make sure the emergency brake lever is released and down completely?

Re: Need help diagnosing this noise
Okay, so here's the progress I've made. I jacked up each of the front wheels and spun them by hand. It didn't make this noise when on the jack. So I checked to make sure the ball joints as well as wheel bearings felt tight. They do feel tight and I don't feel any play in the wheel. Anyway, I then put the car in gear to make the wheels spin on the jack and it once again didn't make the sound. When I took the car off of the jack stands and drove it around slowly in the driveway it's clearly making this sound. However, after listening to it outside of the car it doesn't quite sound like the rubbing I'd thought it sounded like from inside the car. Almost sounds like a card in the wheel of a bicycle.
So anyway, I took a video of it although it turned out horribly. In this one you can hear the sound, but it sounds more distorted and about 100 times louder than it is.

Here it is on Jackstands where it's not making the noise

Re: Need help diagnosing this noise
Front wheel on the drivers side, but when I go the passenger side it almost sounds like it's coming from there too. So it really sounds like it's coming from both front wheels.
