Default Slow Crank.

Well i recently put my battery in the trunk.
I used 4 Guage wire and ran two 6 inch long 4 guage wires as grounds off the battery.
(I was told to use double the size of the power as the ground so thats why i ran 2 4 guages) I scrapped the body so its metal on metal for the grounds

I ran the positive wire down the passanger side and into the engine compartment where it runs into a junction box there i have the stock wires going to the starter and fuse box.

Is the 4 Guage wire not big enough or is my problem in the juction box?

Put a few more grounds onto the motor also, the ground for the spark/starter needs to travel further...you want to get it off the engine as fast as possible

Try 2 gauge. That's what comes with the battery relocation kits.
I have a 4 door sedan with 2 gauge - starts every time without any problems.

You can run two 4 gauge wires if you don't have access to 2 gauge.

0 gauge is over doing it IMO.

Somebody already addressed that issue.

You 'should' ground the battery to the chassis as close to the battery.
It's also a good idea to run a couple more grounds - like one from the battery up to the engine compartment and another to somplace near the firewall or something.
This was also mentioned in about 2 weeks ago in a post about relocating batteries. The idea was that our cars don't have a full frame so there is really no serious connection between the back half and the fron half. By running the extra ground wire(s) you make a good connection to the battery.

Anyway, I don't have any spare ground wiring. I plan to do it just for fun... maybe my headlights will be brighter?!?!? I don't have any starting problems or alternator whine over the radio so I think I'm good to go.

Good info, i have a bunch of 4 guage wire left over.

I redid the tranny and valve cover grounds with 4 guage.

So i should run one off my intake manifold to firewall.
Maybe i will ran a ground to the block as well?

The tranny-to-chassis wire is the 'big' one. It has a direct connection to the starter.

If you have extra cable, maybe consider running it from the negative battery terminal and connect it up to the tranny-to-chassis cable.

Kinda off topic but one time i went to do a swap on a car (house call ) and the kid had ran the ground all the way back up the the front of the car.

I kinda laughed but i wasnt too hard on him, he tried.
