Default abs light

When I turn my 94 ex on the abs light is not on, but once i start moving it comes on and stays on until I turn the car off. Is there a bad wheel sensor or something?

I would say it would be a bad sensor or maybe you did some work on the brakes or in that area and it messed with the sensor. I am not sure how hard tehy are to replace yourself but mine has done the same thing for a year and I am jsut too cheap to fix it.. not worth my time IMO

You could read the error code. Kinda like reading ECU error codes, you watch the flashing light. I don't have a '94 so you gotta search around for the procedure, like where's the connector you need to jumper??

On that older system you should be able to jumper the blue 2 pin connector[passenger side above kick panel] and get a flash code when you turn the key on. The light pulses are in sets, like a long blink and 2 short blinks. But you might want to do the basic checks first; like fluid level, be sure the pump runs when key comes on, 2 different size tires?...etc.

It sounds like you had the similar problem I did. The system most likely isnt pressurizing. The abs system tries to pressurize the system for about 60 seconds, and if it can't, it shuts down the abs motor and your abs light will come on. Pull the code and find out what it says.

Im having the same exact problem w/ my 97 . I recently had the right axle changed and im guessing the problem is coming from there.

Is it just teh sensor? or the entire axle?

my 94 accord ex has started to do this. you can definately hear it try to pressurize (lots of noise from abs modulator) but the light will turn on after it has failed. how can i fix this problem? is it most likely a failure in teh abs modulator? how mcuh will parts and labor be?

Sounds like its a sensor going bad. your best bet is getting a diagnostic done

u want to make sure that they put the proper axle in....you can get 2 different axles with or without abs .... again make sure the proper axle was installed before doung anything else ...

chk the fluid on the modulator . 94 were notorious for abs modulator leaks..if it is low u got to fix the leak then bleed the abs system from the modulator ,,,, if planty of fluid try bleeding the system ............if u can get abs code and post it here it would be a big help..
