drilled and slotted rotors, which direction do lines on rotor point?

Do they actually make a rotor designated as LEFT and RIGHT (with the slots on each one going in the opposite direction)? If they go the same direction when you look at both rotors side-by-side, then it doesn't matter which side they go on.

I would imagine it has to do with the cooling characteristics of the rotor. I don't know if putting a left rotor on a right side would cause premature wear but I would imagine braking would be not as effecient. If it's a blank rotor most cars it doesn't matter. They are the same.

oh wait hmm even blanks could be directional, depending on how the cooling vanes are cast. If the vanes are straight then it wouldn't matter. I didn't think to check that the last time I installed rotors.
Most blank rotors for most cars are non-directional. You can use them the left or the right. Those cooling vanes are usually straight cut. I'm not saying that as the gosspel, but in general you need not worry.
I'm sure cooling is the big reason that drilled and slotted rotors are directional. I will definitely find out tomorrow. I'll call Ray at stainless steel brakes. He knows his sh$t. I gotta call him tomorrow anyways, I'll be sure to throw that question in.

that picture is correct! if you think about it, when a vented rotor spins it acts like a "turbo" if you will and it pulls air in from by the axel. so its not really a matter of the drilled holes or slots, but the vented part.
hmm...i always wondered about this. does having the slots point in a different direction improve braking?? or either way, its the same?
mine are like the picture as well i have brembo drilled and slotted and they work fine no prooblems i can stop real fast from 120
