Default ls/vtec ?

I am doing the ls/vtec witha b16 head, b18b block, b16, waterpump, oil pump, and i was trying to find out what head gasket i needed and if it would be a good idea to switch the gear on the crank to a b16. If someone could help i would appreciate it!!

Use the ls gear, I'm pretty sure all the timing gears other than the water pump are the same. As for the head gasket, everything I've read states to use a gasket made for the block. I.E. use a ls headgasket. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I don't want to spread misinformation.
