Couple of Questions???????
Okay I know youve heard it all about exhausts but i searched and found nothing to answer my question. I have a 1991 crx with hollowed cat-2.25 all the way back to a can. I want that thing way quietier. I don't like it loud anymore and was wondering if i could have a muffler shop weld on a 18" or 22" resonator right behind the cat, i don't want the resonator to be seen, from kteller and I want it quiet until i get on it and then sound deep. I dont' have the money for a rsr or greddy. If someone has a exhaust in good shape that they want to get rid of let me know. A local muffler shop said it was sound like crap to put the resonator right behind the cat. So where should i mount the resonator and will it quiet it down alot. Also does anyone run the bilstein struts on there crx with coilovers dropped pretty low. I was interested in them. Let me know what you guys think. How they ride and so on. Thanks a lot
Resonators dont make it quiet,,They only make the exhaust noise deeper
My father has a dohc 1.9l motor and his exhaust is queit..It sounds like the new audi 1.8 and evos..Nice and deep
He runs this set-up
High flow 2.5" catylist
2.5" piping
22" resonator mounted behind the cat
8" resonator mounted right in front of the muffler
2.5" in/out chambered muffler
Everything was bought from jegs for $250 including the catylist..

Funny,a resenotor has staggered holes leading to some sort of packing in order to cancel out excess noise?? but it doesn't quite it down?? hmm....your right it does make it sound deeper, but it certinaly does quite the exaust tone and make it less raspy/clingy.

Yeah it queits down the tone and gets rid of the raspy but its still loud as hell..
Think of it like bass..
Id rather have loud and deep then loud and tin can raspy sounding..
