Default 4th Gen experts....

Any of the models have roll up windows? Does the S model? I have power windows, and I am trying to get rid of some weight (don't need power windows in a racecar)... I was thinking they all had power windows, I guess I am just hoping that maybe the S would have roll up windows..

Roll up windows aren't going to give you lots of weight reduction. Tip: you will get better weight reduction taking a before you race than you will with roll up windows. Why don't you get a carbon fiber shift ****, and shave off a few more ounces.

Well, it is more than JUST weight reduction, but thanks for the smart comment.. Its either roll up windows, or no windows at all.... And don't think I am just some kid racer just trying to loose a couple lbs for the next street race..

If anything call Honda and ask to see if the 92 Preludes has the roll up windows, I seriously doubt thou. GOOD IDEA thou. Ever thought of removing the bumper supports.

Well, if I want TOTAL weight reduction, i would take the windows out.. And I may have to do this now that there isn't any kind of factory roll up system.. When you start gutting the car, you take of and unhook many electrical components.. When you do it, sometimes stuff just stops working.. So, now that I have everything from the doors BUT the windows unhooked, only the driver window will go down, and for Road Racing, I need both windows down... I would have liked to keep the windows for when it rains or when I am hauling the car, but thats it..

I want them for several reasons, If I tag a wall on the track sometime (knock on wood), they could save many of my valueable parts... Like my motor

Wel if you really have the time, you can always custom make roll up window or make some brackets to keep it closed ay all time...I agree with you on the Bumper supprts, just an idea. What about getting rid of the factory tank and get a lighter tank. I see some fuel tanks on Summit magazine

Well, the motors are quite heavy.. And plus I could get rid of all the wiring on the doors... so.. 4-5lbs a door maybe... Its not just that, like I explained...

If you don't mind doing some work you should be able to fabricate some lexan windows that can snap in or be bolted on when you want them and taken off when you don't.

there is only a couple pounds difference between the two. The units themselves on the power window actuators only weight around 7lbs, give or take. It would be better just to take out the passanger side seat. I think the biggest problem with wieght on these cars are the 22lbs a wheel plus tire. If ya got money tho all lexan would be nice. Another way to lose weight, you can always tell her to walk.

Remember guys, my car is a racecar... There is NOTHING inside of it other than safety gear, a driver's seat, and steering wheel.. Unfortuanlly, Lexan windows are against the rules.. I am running Kosei K1 wheels, 13lbs in 15x7" and only 120$... If a bitch wants to ride with me, she can sit on the damn floorboard.. With it being cold, it will get her *** nice and tight

I'm with the thought of the lexan windows. I realize that they're illegal for track use, however, with a snap on system and some weather stripping, you'd be set.

Therefor you have "windows" on the street, but at the track, in 5 minutes or less, you're stripped of them.

I had a '92 S, which is as base model as you can get. I test drove 3 seperate ones before I bought it, and they all had power windows.
