under dive pulleys??
They work, but i've read that they can be a danger to your motor due to them being not properly balanced. The oem honda crank is balanced by the pulley, which is why it weighs what it does. I guess u could use it for the alternator, or ac, but it probly isnt worth it. Search around a little, try to find a post by MistaBone about this, he had a motor do some nasty things from installin underdrive pulleys.

Its not so much the balancing, its the fact that they arent harmonic dampers.
A factory crank pulley dampens vibrations that the crankshaft gives off from rotating that would destroy the bottom end bearings.

Did you adjust your belt correctly?
It shouldn't have dimmed what so ever.... engine RPM is going to stay the same for idle .... and it doens't matter how much your rotating assembly weighs for how fast it spins the alternator wheel...

if you have a d16a6, the harmonic balancer is in the oil pump and you can run the light weight crank pulley without any problems...according to the guys in the RR/Auto-x forum...

Here this argument goes again...*sigh*...and i still havent found the answer ive been looking for. One of the 88-91 Civic D series motors (I think HF and LX's?) came with a pulley that did not have the rubber ring. It was lighter in weight compared to the D16A6 one. WHY did honda do this? Again, it was a stock OEM pulley.

I am well aware of this argument and this is my side of it.
You want you car to go fast put it on, becasue most engine builds wont be lsating 50k plus miles, go for it.

In hardcore physics it will, but honda engine are genreally very well balanced from the factory. Go look on an old SBC and see hoe hardcore the dampers are on them...
