Default Gauge cluster does not light up and parking lamps and tails aren't workin' either.

I tried painting my light bulbs competition orange and then put them back in. The cluster didn't light up at all. Later I noticed that my parking lights and rear tails do not light up(flash) when I turn my alarm on and off, but the gauge cluster does light up like normal. Is something not plugged in? Is a fuse blown?

So:

All my lights work fine except the gauge cluster when I turn on my headlights.

The gauge cluster does flash on then off when I turn my alarm on...like normal. So the bulbs do work in the gauge cluster.

The parking lamps and tails turn on like normal when I turn my lights on, but they do not flash on then off when I turn my alarm on and off.

Any clue as to what it could be? Fuse? Something not plugged in? Alarm system?

Thanks people!

Dan

i would start by checking you fuses.
if thats not it i would start looking for a short.
your gauge cluster and your parking lights are on the same fuse.

Also I noticed the little buzzer that lets you know your lights are on(when you turn the car off) isn't working either.

well, if they are on the same fuse, why do the parking lights turn on when I turn on my headlights? they also turn on when I just flip the headlight control one click...you know so just your parking lights come one. This is really weird. Does anyone have a clue where I should look for something that is not plugged in? Could it be a ground wire somewhere?

sounds like the alarm parking light trigger is tapped into the parking light circuit somewhere between the cluster and the rest of you car.
there is a break in the circuit between your cluster (dash) and the rest of you car. my bet is that your dimmer switch isn't plugged in

well, if it wasn't plugged in...i wouldn't be able to use the dimmer at all right? but I can...even though the gauge doesn't light up when my lights turn on, it does flash on and off when i turn my alarm on and off and i adjusted the brightness and it up and down..and you can tell it brightens and dims...even though you can see the lights for only a few seconds when the alarm is turned on and off...did that make sense? lol
