Default Please help engine swap time!!

I have a 1989 honda crx si that im going to be buying a new engine for around march or april. I might have it installed professionally but im currently in an auto tech class at school and would liek to try it first with a couple classmates. I was just wondering what engines would give me some nice power and bragging rights after its installed? I hear about like b18,b16, zc(jdm motor)? I just dont know much about each. Which one would give me some nice bragging rights? Im also going to be installing a turbo but that will be later on in the project. So basically i would like to know of some good engines that would fit nicely into this car. PLEASE HELP! greatly appreciated

my personal preference is the b16 they are nice motor and i have seen some pretty mean setups with them. i myself have done a b16 swap into my 90 civic si and it is a direct drop in.

Did you search? No, shame on you.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Someone Much Wiser Than You &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Question:
What's the BEST engine for my Honda?

Answer:
125cc Honda dirt bike motor. It weighs under 50lbs, revs to 10000rpms, and makes 320hp/liter.

There, now that we solved the question that is constantly on everyone's mind, let's talk about pizza.

Seriously now, the best engine for your honda is WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY!

If you have $1000, DOHC ZC.
If you have $2000, get a 1st gen b16a. It'll cost that much to get it in.
If you have $4000, get a GSR/B18C1.
If you have $5500, get a ITR/B18C5.
If you have $10K, and no use for your car for a month or two... get a K20.
Edited for the Whiners:
This is NOT a complete list, as there are mini-mes, LS-VTEC swaps, budget/poor man's ITRs, etc. Use the damn search button a bit more religiously.

What's the best engine for boost... the one that gets TUNED properly.
What's the best engine for drag racing... the one you spend the most money on making FAST.
What's the best engine for road racing... same thing.
What's the most reliable engine... the one you MAINTAIN religiously.
What's the cheapest engine... the one that's in your car.

There, hopefully when searched, this thread will pull up so people will stop making threads about stupid crap like "what's the difference between a GSR and a B18C5"...the oil caps. </TD></TR></TABLE>

If your in California, I would recommend doing a US spec motor, so you can pass smog. Good luck!
