Default '99 Si CD deck question. *already searched*

Im putting an after market clarion deck into my '99 Si, and I'd like to put the civic's oem cd deck into my mom's '99 CRV, so she can escape the pathetic wrath of the tape deck.

Is such a cross car install possible? If so, how does the security coding work?

Thanks in advance

the cd player can not get up and look around at which car its installed in. When you swap it, it will just ask for the pin cause it lost power.

I would think it would be compatible. You'll just need the four digit pin which should be in your owners manual.

I don't see why Honda would use different connectors between models.

kinda like using a sony brand radio power cord on your PS2.

it will fit 99 and newer honda's use the same radio plug.

You will need your security code when you put it in the crv.

simple simple

install the deck and when it powers on punch it in on the number pad (the buttons where you set your radio stations)

You should have got the code from the dealer/previous owner when you bought it.

its an easy plug in if its 99 to 99. If u try to install it into an older model honda, its onna have to be rewired cuz the plugs are different. I think 99 is when honda decide to change the plugs cuz its been the same for a long long time b4 99

Yep should work. All honda cars from like 92-until 98 shared one harness for the radios, from 99 up it changed. So your straight.

You should have gotten a card with the radio security code on it when you purchased the car. If you did not, then when you pull the radio, look for the serial number on a sticker on the bottom of it. Take the radio serial number to your local Honda dealership and ask them to run it through the computer to get the security code.
