i have an 83 civic hatchback 1500cc, 5 speed....the engine's shot...

rather than rebuild i'm hoping to find a junkyard engine for a swap....my question is what year make and model can i use for the donor without making extensive mods

nothing fancy, just an occassional driver

86-89 integra motor ALMOST bolts in.

redpepperracing.com is your new best friend.

edit: your car is carb'd, so you'll also have to swap fuel systems as well if you go FI.

 

You don't want to go fuel injected, it's a major headache.

i have an 89 integra 1.6 dohc engine just sittin around. make me an offer (be reasonable)

 

i'm in memphis, shipping would be a killer from your location...there are tons of yards here, a couple of pick-a-parts with lot's of donor candidates...hopefully, if i take my time, i can find a low mileage wreck with a good running motor for less than a rebuild

are there any other donors not yet mentioned...so i have a broad choice when i go hunting
