h23 timing belt install??
ok. im installing a timing belt on my h23 and according to my helms it says set the cams to tdc and set the crank to tdc, then lock the cams wit a punch and turn the crank counterclock wise 3 teeth to tighten the belt. so what is the final timing mark supposed to be? i have 2 marks on my flywheel, a solid white , a red line and a white T. which should it line up with? anyone got any pics of theres?

Set the cams to TDC and lock them, then make sure the flywheel is ligned up with the WHITE PLUS SIGN. That is the TDC mark, not the red line or the white line, trust me on that one
.
Then the challenge is to get the belt on snugly without letting the cams or crank turn. I like to put a bolt on the tensioner to secure it in the full slack position. Do the intake cam last and use a wrench to manually turn the cams gears with the bolt on the end. You WILL have to manually turn them slightly to get the teeth lined up just right.
Once you get the belt on, unlock the cams and relieve all tension from the tensioner so it's on it own and turn the crank 3 teeth CC. Then tighten the tensioner and manually turn the engine over to check that the timing marks still line up.

Cams are at TDC and crank is at TDC, but when I hit it with the timing gun it shows the white line l
