Default Spinning bearings on ls..

I was wondering how do you prevent spinning bearings in a ls motor? What causes it? It seems thats the only problem with ls vtec build that im having. I already have my block and just wondering how to prevent it. Also anyone know how much stock b18b rods will handle with ARP bolts? Im going NA using a GSR head and no more than 8500 rpm MAX. thanks j

if the bearings are clearanced right and you check for roundness and machine if needed after installing the arp's(wich will most likely egg shape the rod); i dont see a problem

ls bearings are diffrent metal the gsr/itr bearings so either use gsr/itr or run aftermarkets such as acl. Also rod bolt stretch causes this to so either use arp's or aftermarkets

GSR bearings are better yes, but I think they have to be modified to fit the LS rods if I am not mistaken. Isnt the notch on the opposite side.

Bearing failure most of the time is lack of oil at high rpms. Get an OBD-II GSR/ITR oil pump, and use ARP rod bolt(8mm), b/c LS rod bolts are weak.

yea, if u use gsr/itr rods u have to get the rod's renotched any machine shop can do this, but i would just use acl's.

Why ACL? Isnt king (I think is the name) a good brand also of bearings. I think the king bearings are silicon coated.

you can't interchange LS and GSR rod bearings. the crank journals are different diameters. just clearance the motor properly(OE specs), be sure your oil system is in good running order and don't beat the **** out of the motor 90% of the time, and the bearings will be alright.

you might want to try going a little tighter, but still within OE tolerances. that might help.

you can interchange LS and GSR bearings, but you have to modify the rods to make them work.
