So a midpipe with no resonator..gonna be loud???
since I"m boosted now, i wanna flow my exhaust more while keeping my **** semi-legal, stock, and popo-proof. I already got a flowmasters axle-back exhaust so I don't feel like spending couple bills for a full catback. Plus, I'm in CA. Gutting a cat and smelling like **** is
anyways, i found a store that sells a 2.25 straight thru mid-pipe withOUT the resonator. So it should be less restrictive than a 2.50 with a resonator. anyways, what are your thoughts guys? Will it be a lot louder or not? I'll still keep the stock cat. i don't want my ride to be a cop magnet.

Turbo set ups usually eat up more noise than an N/A set up, but a resonator, IMO, is always a good idea. It helps tone down the "raspiness."

Exactly, go with a 2.5" IMO a little bit louder but let that turbo breath. Get the resonator and keep the cat. Sacrafice the slight hp decrease and it will help everyone

A straight through perforated core resonator doesn't add any backpressure, not enough to create a loss in power anyways. The only reason I would see someone not using one if for weight savings but then the car sounds really raspy. Even with a stock muffler, removing the resonator makes the car sound aweful
My friend used to have a straight through 2.5 (i think) exhuast, however mated w/ an N1, and it was raspy as all hell... He drove up next to a fire truck and his car was definitly louder.
for raspy man!

the turbo will create all the backpressure you need...you don't need a cat or a resonator...go straight pipe back to a good catback setup and you'll be fine

Nodoby "needs" a resonator, but the raspy high pitch noise it makes attracts the wrong attention. A resonator won't kill performance, but it will tone it down a little, for a deeper sound.
