well i took my block to a machine shop to get the align bore checked and to have a few other things done. well the machine shop lost the bearings and now i have no idea what size i need to get. did honda ever put a marking on the block to say what size bearings they put in the block? ive found a series of 4's on the block but im not sure if that means anything, and i also found numbers and letters on the crank also, does that mean anything about bearing sizes. also the block is a 99, the one with different main journal sizing. any help would be great.

 

yes honda put markings on the block and on the crank.

there are two sets of markings on the crank one for the rod bearings and one for the main bearings. the markings on the crank with the markings on the block coencide to a chart that you can work out the correct sizes. im not at home or i would bust open my helms and tell you.

but the markings should be on the bottom corner of the block. and id on't remember where they are on the crank. ill have to post up more infromation tomorrow

Well it's a grid...letters on block block by numbers on crank = bearing colours

 

so what do all 4's on the block and all 4's and one 5 on crank = to bearing colors?

 

heres some pics of my crank and block with the numbers. if some one could tell me what color bearings i need based on the numbers and letters.
