when the car is on it doesnt go into car but when its off it goes into all the gears, what could it be? thanks

 

check the clutch cable, maybe the pedal assembly????

 

the clutch pedal bracket is a possibility or adjust the clutch

 

might be your throwout bearing

 

what happens if you turn off the car put it in first gear then start the car, does the car take off fine?

 

yea when i turn it on in first it takes off. the clutch is brand new i put it on less than 20 miles ago, it is a competition clutch. How would i know if it was the pedal assembly??? the car was driving fine then all of a sudden when i was driving i couldnt get it in third and then i tried to get in any other gears and it wouldnt work. Any ideas???

 

this sounds kinda crazy but what i did when that happened to me i just would leave it in first and turn it once and shut it off and put it in rev. and turn it off after about three times it worked fine never had a problem and i tried all of everything before i did that good luck

 

could it be the transmission at all??? i was driving it fine then all of a sudden it happen at of no where right when i went to put it in third gear. Its a 1st gen b16 transmission. Thanks
