Default crvtec, which head?

I've been searching for more than 6 hours now about what head is the best to use for a b20/vtec.

So far I read that the gsr head gives more compression and the b16 head flows better but thats the ONLY info I found at this time. Anybody knows more about this?

Thx

Yes but best flowing doesn't mean its the best. This is a head made to run on a 1.6L engine and we are using a 2.0L here. So with a b16 head we are basicely ''choking'' the engine...

please explain how it "chokes" the engine?

Because the smaller port on the b16 allows for better flow velocity, but when you swap that head on a 0.4L more engine, the head will flow, but this engine needs the BREATH. It needs a little bigger ports and will keep the same flow velocity as the b16 head on a 1.8L

LSVTECJay, thank you for your advice, I already did. Did you searched about that subject yourself before saying to use the goddamn search button? I don't want to hear about how to build a crvtec. I'm talking about head flowing here.

The two heads have very similar port volume and flow numbers. The b16 head would be my choice. The chamber is a little bigger, the manifolds are easier to deal with (no secondaries, smaller overall size). They are a little cheaper by maybe a hundred bucks or so.The gsr cams work well with the b20 and b16 head. You can buy these used for $50-$100.

i personally like the p72 head better; more quench and port angles are a little better than the pr3.
pr3 ex. ports flow a 'little'' better

Well bigger chamber = lower compression in my book. Its not something you want if you stay NA...

And secondaries aren't a good thing? I though they would be a good thing, helping flaten the power curve a bit...

If we knew what your trying to achieve we could give you more specific help.Track car, street car or a little of both. Are you going to use stock pistons?Aftermarket intake? Both heads are good pieces, one may be a little better depending on what your trying to accomplish.

dont people just take the head to a machine shop and get the head size matched to the block size for cheap?

me 2, people always say that b16 heads are better, but why are gsr heads harder to find?
