My transmission has been acting very weird lately. It is very hard to down shift, and yes, i depress the clutch the whole way to the floor!

It started with just not want to shift from 3rd to 2nd but now tonight it wouldnt downshift to any gear. i was trying to go from 5th to 4th but it wouldnt, so i tried 3rd and it wouldnt. so i just taped the brakes and tryed 2nd, it wouldnt, so i went back to 4th and it all finnally wanted to work again.

Whats wrong with it?

i drive a 1990 Honda CRX DX with a DX tranny

 

change the fluid and report back

 

try adjusting your clutch cable tighten it down then let us know ok! that should help your problem

 

Check your shift linkage too. Tighten things up a bit if their loose. Maybe take it off, then re-install it.

 

having same problem since I change or swapped in Kaaz LSD
first sometimes goes in and others time won't

doesn't matter hot or cold....

I tried the Syncromesh stuff from GM, Pennzoil bottle. Works like a dream, only $15 for 3 bottles.

 

Is your pilot bearing good? Mine froze up and kept the input shaft spinning when I depressed the clutch pedal. It's something you might want to check.

 

double clutching solved the problem, or shifting slowly.

i assume the oil level is low, but i just cant get enough free time to check it.

it maybe clutch related and you might be runnin on E w/ tranny fluid

 

the springs in teh clutch are bad i had the problehem and only went in gear while car was off because i kept driving like that so i needed a new clutch
