Default questions about boosting a k20a3

i have a base rsx :D

i've read that an a3 is better for boosting (compared to the a2) because of the low compression. but would i find more gains from a boosted a3 or a boosted a3 with the a2 head (with the so-called real v-tec)?

a recent post also mentioned that the a3 doesn't have the oil squirters the a2 has. what else is the a3 missing?

honestly, i've been saving up for a k20a , but boost sounds a lot more fun . i've always been afraid to boost my car because of the maintenance, but what the heck. haha

thanks!

is there any difference in the "safety" of boosting an a3 and an a2?

A2 has a stronger crank, stronger rods, and of course a better head. I say boost the A3, save more money and build an A2, since the kit will fit either motor

why would i build an a2 when i have a boosted a3?

if i boosted my a3, i'd go for the full-race stage 2 or 3.

it's probably more complicated than this, but isn't boosting an a3 with an a2 head better than boosting an original a2?

to boost, or not to boost.

that's the freakin' question, mang.

I have an ep3 with the the above questioned a3 engine. I have my sites firmly set on the Jackson race SC setup with k-pro and a yet to be determined intake and full exhaust setup. Everything bolts on so easy and there is great reliability for a DD. I think this setup with a good tuning is putting down something like 220 whp, that with the right suspension tuning and good tires would make make any dc5 or ep3 a blast to drive.

i've been getting a lot of feedback from my friends lately. they tell me i should custom build my turbo setup. i had my eyes on a complete turbo kit, somewhere from greddy, hks, full-race, or wherever, but can i really trust the reliability of these kits? i'm looking to make over 300whp.

thanks!

I am not a f/i expert, but I would think to go 300 whp you would really need to have "built" engine or at the very least stick with a the lower compression a3 and add in a really good crank and rods. Adding the a3 heads and trying to push enough boost to do 300+ sound like a tough combination for a setup that was never meant to do either.

building the engine for a turbo is an obvious. i'm assuming 300whp is reachable within a $4000 budget..

i mean, reaching 220hp with a turbo and lightly tuned k20a3 is fairly easy, but boost does get addicting.
