vented Imoto hood need pins?

Does the Imoto hood need speacial pins (screws) to get a hold on the car, or is the hood for the stock brackets designed?

The guy I bought mine off of said they are not necessary but recommended. I decided to get a set of sparco ones on ebay for like $25 bucks. I'm supposed to have my hood within a week.
