Trans grind
i think my throw out/ release bearing is shot because downshifts=grinds, mainly in 1st gear. i have heard that this is a common problem amongst older civics...anyone have any input on my situatuion
Just don't downshift into first until you stop then. Simple fix and no need to tear the car apart. I see no reason to downshift into first unless you are going under 5mph.

what i should have said was, downshifting from 3,2 grinds, also at a complete stop from neutral to 1st sometimes grinds, when the car is idleing there is a rattle noise comming from the transmission side, when the clutch is engaged rattleing stops
