Default Stronger ignition

Hi!

My CBT-250 (oem generic Honda engine - 250cc 2 cyl 4 stroke) has problems starting when its cold, and I think it has to do with a weak ignition system. Id like to improve it with better coils and such.. What would you guys recommend?

before you try that, check your plugs (clean and gaped) if that doesn't work try a bigger pilot jet, not a jet kit. you should be able to pick up 2 from almost any moto shop for <$5 for 2. just take out your stock ones, take them to a shop and ask them for 1 size bigger...

Yeah, I already regapped my new plugs, and the mainjet is okey, but the problems is that its running really rich. I think that may have something to do with it. Nevertheless - a better spark is a good thing.

well yeah, but before you go out spending $150+ on new ignition stuff you should try and fix you problem first. your MAIN jet doesn't have hardly anything to do with idle its you pilot jet. i would pull the carbs, clean and inspect ALL jets. you could be running very rich under normal running but at idle your running lean you never know

Yeah, I actually fixed it now. The dealer had her in for a mild tuneup, cleaned her. The bike is only two weeks old.

Nevertheless, I want a stronger ignition. Startup in cold and wet weather hasnt improved, so I dont mind spending that little extra for a more reliable setup.

Also - Where can I get a tachometer for it? Ive been looking around, but I cant find anything.
