Clicking noise from tranny... throw out bearing?
hey guys, i did a search on "noise from a tranny" and all i got from it is it could be a throw out bearing. But my situation seems different then the symptoms from a throw out bearing.
People described it as a "whirling noise" when clutch was engaged.. well mines a "cgrkejlk sldkfjiske dkjhekjl clikck dkej" noise when the clutch petal is depressed... ALSO, sometimes as a stop, even with the clutch petal depressed, i cant get it into any gear.

It's deffenetly coming from the tranny.

well, I've had this problem with my past 3 clutches... it's not a aiohjcpoudsopica noise.. it sounds like a giant cricket chirping and squeaking, it's driving me insane, and people tell me it's the throwout bearing..
Sounds like it could be the clutch itself, or maybe a really bad bearing in the tranny. Two questions though:
1. Does it vary with speed (ie: click faster or slower)?
2. Can you shift it into gears with the car off?

Just bust it opoen and replace the throwout and pilot bearing... also could be the fingers on ur pressure plate are warped or or worn.

does anything specific cause that?
i guess it's time for a aftermarket upgraded clutch :D

i've actually seen where the "fingers" on the pressure plate actually break off and thats what you hear rattling around near your flywheel

Just buy an act clutch kit it comes with everythign new pressure plat new throw out bearing new clutch and you'll be fine it might be a bad pressure plate but it sounds like the throw out bearing cause when mine when bad it sounded lik valve tap but when i pressed the clutch in it stopped so idk.

i have no beater car, so any thing like that would have to be for a 100% reason. tonight driving home my gears were almost "sticking" in. like the sycros wouldnt release for a 2nd. My guess is the clutch isnt releasing from the flywheel? that could also explain when my car wont go INTO gear when im stoped.
... im pretty sure it's not a throw out bearing because it STOPS when i let the clutch pedal out.. opposite of a throw out bearing symptom.

eh?.. When I press the clutch pedal down even only past the freeplay part of the clutch.. the noise will stop.. but if it's full engaged or disengaged with the pedal all the way up, the noise drives me insane..
