Default d16z6 into crx wiring

I have searched for this and found a few helpfull topics for this swap, but Im a little confused when it comes to wiring for vtec.

I found this on http://www.ef-honda.com

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">For OBD0 you first off need a D16A6 distributor. Then you need a way to make VTEC work. There are a variety of ways to do this. MSD makes an RPM activated switch you can use (shift lights also contain one of these and I have seen people use them), you can get a VAFC, you can run a PR3 or PW0 ECU (have to add another o2 sensor or get the ECU chipped to remove BOTH o2 sensors), or you can find a PS9 ECU and get it chipped with a 1 wire vtec program (one of the best ways IMO).

If you go for the gusto and decide to convert everything to OBD1 then you will need to get a P28 ECU and then do a bunch of wiring.</TD></TR></TABLE>

well I wanna go obd-1..so wouldnt I be able to just buy a obd-o to obd-1 wiring harness w/p28 ecu and just wire up everything including vtec without any rpm activited switches etc. etc.

Im positive this has been asked before,so...sorry if i missed it

i belive i got mine for 110 shipped to my door

they are a bit more pricey than the 2-1 harness but what are you gonna do?

the vtec wires all come unhooked from the harness so you must wire those yourself which is just what you wanted to do

easy swap....

take out your a6 or hf motor, keep the wiring harness. A lot of the plugs will plug into the z6. Put in the Z6, i suggest getting new motor mounts (4th generation motor mounts and you will need the 4th gen driver side engine motor holder thingy that holds the mount and put that on the z6), spark plugs, spark plug wires, water pump, timing belt, and tensioner. Anyway, put in the z6, plug up everything where it goes.

If the Z6 is a 92 there is a coolent temp sensor in the back of the block above/near the oil filter, if it is a '93-'95 there will be a bolt there and the sensor will be near the thermostat housing/vtec solenoid.

You will go obd-1. You will need the obd-1 distributor (stock one for the z6), the p28 ecu, the conversion harness. You can tear off the map sensor from the firewall, and the charcoal canister while you are at it.

I suggest using a 4th gen si transmission because of shorter gearing, it will fit and you wont have the headache of converting to a hydraulic transmission (mounts are different). Im pretty sure the 92-95 clutch and flywheel combo (you have to use the same years clutch and f/w together) will fit and they are the biggest, so use those.

I'm not sure about the fuel injector connectors. I'm OBD-0, can't help you out too much with the obd-1 stuff.

This site will help out a bit: http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/tech/sohcvtec.html

You can use any clutch and flywheel from 89-95 in your z6 swap. However, like i stated above, both flywheel and clutch MUST be of the same year. They will all fit into the (89-91) 4th gen si transmission. Do NOT use '88 anything.
