Default better braking power 99 si

hey, well today i was just fooling around with the car on a long street, there was plenty of room so i opened up the car, slowing down from the speed at which i was traveling took so long to slow down i almost didnt stop in time. i had to stop because there was a red light comming up and the brakes worked but they just seemed to fade away. I was wondering if there are any good bang for the buck mods on improving my breaking power. i did a search but nothing i wanted came up! thanks!!

put GSR calipers in the front and an ITR brake booster + master cylinder, brembo blanks [cross drilled / slotted] and good pads. . makes stopping MUCH better

Get performance pads, and like stated above change your calipers, MC, and BB. The MC and BB will give you the most noticeable change.

I'm interested in this too....I saw three 99-00 SI's with front end damage in a period of two days...not to mention mine. My old accord could stop better than this thing.

I would suggest some performance pads (I'm going with some HAWK, there is a deal on those in the sponsors forum right now) and brembo rotors.....do you mean the brembo blanks or slotted and drilled? The only thing I have against slotted and drilled rotors is that they tear up your pads faster than stock/OEM replacement rotors. If you don't believe me about the 1" ITR MC and BB, then do a search. It will give you an EXTREMELY noticeable gain in braking power. Also a set of Braided SS lines.

go with hawk hp plus pads
goodridge lines and good brake fluid like motul 600
don't bother with upgrading rotors, waste of money
I must mention the hawk hp plus can be loud (like grinding metal on metal noise)
but this will work alot better than stock

Also upgrade tires. Remember you can only brake as hard as your tires can take.
