Default CEL code 22 (vtec pressure valve)

I have a 93 civic with a b16a swap. after installing my vafc2 my check engine light came on and it put a rev limiter on at 6500rpm. I unhooked the vafc and connected the wires the way it should be. The CEL is still on and throwing a code 22 I check my haynes manuel and did all the checks everything seems to be fine but the revlimiter is still at 6500 and i dont think vtec kicks in. Anybody have any ideas? thanks.

are you sure you didnt cross the wires on the VAFCII?

Make sure that the you have the output wire from the vafc going to the ECU and the Input wire going to the Vtec Sol.

BTW did you hook up the VTM wire?

That your oil pickup/passageways are plugged.

i was throwing code 22 also on my b18c1. What it is , is that the computer is thinking that the motor was NO vtec pressure valve and therefore it throws an CEL,.

i bypassed the CEL.

I did this by connecting or crossing, D6 ( vtec soleniod) and A4 ( vtec pressure valve) wires. you can simply splice the wires and connect the 2 together or do what i did (because i hate splice wires) take a paper clip unfolded it and just plugged it right in to A4 and D6 on the ecu connecters.

It is still working for me.. i did this about 2 months ago..

some guys on here knows alot about it. i got the reference through honda-tech also..

some guy with a h22a and p13 ecu had a whole write up form about this somewhere on here.

he had the whole layout with relays and all other kinds of **** to make it run correct. he's the only guy i know that is running this set-up.. all others use my method also..

hope this helps..

the easiest thing to check for since you already checked the ecu connections is to get a multimeter put the key in battery position and make sure you're getting consistent voltage to both vtec sensors
