i think maybe its the dizzy but how the **** can you tell if i am getting spark or not??

Simple, just take off one of the spark cables from your distributor, then grab a nicely insulated screwdriver and put it near the hole where the cable goes. Ask someone to give the car ignition. If you see or hear the current flow from the distributor to the screwdriver then you have spark.

And then you can do it the smart way and just pull the plug stick it back in the wire and put it on the valve cover, have someone crank the car and look for a spark. But if you feel like getting shocked.....knock yourself out.
